French Toast Casserole
Equipment
- 13×9 pan greased
Ingredients
- 1 French bread, Long approx 1/2 lb
- 3 c Milk
- 8 Eggs
- 4 tsp Sugar
- 1 tbsp Vanilla
- ¾ tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Butter cut into small pieces
Instructions
- Generously grease 13×9 pan
- Cut French bread into 1 in. thick slices
- Arrange bread slices in single layer over bottom of pan
- In large bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla
- Pour over bread
- Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight
- Heat over to 350
- Remove casserole from fridge and uncover
- It isn't necessary to bring to room temp
- Dot with butter
- Bake uncovered at 350 for 40-50 min or until bread is puffy and lighter brown
- Serve with hot syrup
Notes
Because the french bread expands overnight, do not overly stuff the pan with too many slices
